Family Portraits at Wagner Natural Area
A hidden gem outside of Edmonton is Wagner Natural Area. This protected Alberta Park is located conveniently off the highway, yet feels like a little nature oasis. With tall golden larch trees, boardwalks, giant spruce and a golden field, the 1km walk through the natural area is not only beautiful but the perfect place for family portraits.
Utilizing all the different areas within Wagner Natural Area, family portraits there are full of variety and natural beauty. I love bringing families who live on the west side of Edmonton, or in Spruce Grove, to Wagner for their portraits, especially in the fall when the larch trees turn shades of yellow and orange. The Thompson family lives nearby and it was the perfect option for their family portrait session. They wanted portraits for their wall, stylized in a relaxed, natural way that really brought out their daughters’ personalities. I think we really nailed the session. We captured portraits for their Christmas Cards and for grandparents, along with lots of fun moments.
