Family Portraits while Camping in Kananaskis
Years ago, when I was a newer photographer, I photographed the Watson Family for the first time. At that time it was just the two of them, and it was their wedding! So you could say I have photographed them from the very start of their family. I was privileged to meet up with them again at their campsite in Kananaskis and photograph their adorable family of five.
Mother Nature wasn’t working in our favour but through the rain we were still able to capture some really beautiful images of the Watson family at their favourite mountain escape. We packed umbrellas and they cuddled up to stay warm all while enjoying a gorgeous backdrop and having a bit of fun skipping rocks and jumping across creeks. When families ask me to come photograph them in their favourite places, I absolutely do my best to make it work! I easily travelled from our own weekend campsite in Sundre for the evening. It was so worth it- I loved hanging out in a new place for portraits. The mountains are always a wonderful backdrop and I loved knowing that this place holds a special spots in their hearts. Things like this make the session so much more personalized.
