I love being able to photograph the very first stages of a family coming together after the birth of a second child. I love watching the big kid dote on baby (or in some cases, completely pretend the new baby isn’t there, haha!). Toddlers are the funniest. This little girl was just as sweet to her brother as could be, and just as cute as I remembered from her newborn session exactly 2 years ago. A honour to photograph this family again in the next stage of their life. I love watching these parents snuggle up their newborns with the look of pure contentment in their eyes. It’s a little bit of magic in a world that sometimes seems overwhelming and full of sadness. Seeing the love of families and experiencing it myself with my two little girls is what kept me going through the hardest of times. There’s nothing better than love, nothing more powerful to see. I’m grateful to be welcomed into homes to see and photograph this firsthand. I’m grateful for the trust that my clients have in me, especially through 2020. These might be hard days, but there is beauty in them. Beauty that needs to be photographed and documented. There is so much joy to be shared, even living through continual historical events and “unprecedented times”. I’m here to photograph your 2021 and all its beauty.
