Megan and Kevin were married at Megan’s family farm outside of Red Deer, Alberta. I was blown away by all the thought and hard work this couple put into to their day but then I found out it wasn’t just them. Their families came together to put on the event, starting with building a new barn from the ground up. They worked every weekend until it was complete and ready to host a reception. Megan counted over 100 friends and family that all put in hours of work in order to make their dream possible. If that isn’t a outpouring of love for Megan and Kevin I don’t know what is.
Lots of other details went into the day- like the Unitarian Ceremony in her mother’s garden complete with a Aman Cara wine ceremony. I had never seen it before and loved the idea behind it. I also like the fact that Megan made her own wedding cakes. She’s a fantastic baker and made simple (and delicious) round cakes that the bridesmaids were icing in between getting ready. Another detail I loved was the fact that Kevin wore his Father’s suit that he wore on his wedding and his Grandfathers’ cowboy boots. All details that went in to planning one of the most special weddings I have ever attended. I could go on and on about the many details inside the barn, but I’ll let the pictures do the talking.
Hugs,
Kelsy
Hi April,
The barn where the wedding was held is now a working barn full of horses. They built it for the wedding with the intention of using right away afterwards. It’s a gorgeous location and it’s too bad they don’t rent it out for events!
thanks for stopping by!
