I first met Tegan long long ago when we were in junior high. We dance at the same studio (well, she danced, I’m still not entirely sure if you can call what I did “dancing”) and became friends despite our age different. I always adored Tegan, she was talented and adorable, sweet and funny. I’m happy to say not a thing has changed, she’s just as lovely as I remembered. I was so happy when she found me to photograph her wedding. She married her high school sweetheart, and although I didn’t know him in school, I can see why she’s smitten with Dave. He’s not only head-over-heels in love with Tegan (10 years after their first date you’d think he’d have less stars in his eyes) he’s a total gentleman with such a kind heart.
There’s a lot of reasons why I enjoyed being a part of Tegan and Dave’s wedding. Their tender first glance, Tegan’s surprise locket boutonniere for Dave, the way they smiled at each other the entire day and the laughter and tears at the recpetion. But perhaps the highlight for me was the little surprise Tegan had for Dave. She wrote him a song (not like a little love poem, like a full out Taylor Swift narrative song) and had it put to music by a talented Arizonan Artist who flew up to perform it during their wedding slideshow. HOLY TEARS. We will just add song writing to Tegan’s list of talents. You can hear her song in their wedding highlight reel from the talented folks at Parfait Products here.
Thank you Tegan & Dave for your loveliness. It’s a rather long sneak peek and I can’t wait to show you the rest soon.
