Whyte Avenue Lifestyle Family Photography in Edmonton
How cute is this family?? I was lucky to be able to photograph Maureen and Ben’s beautiful blended family this past spring, just a few weeks after photographing their elopement to the mountains. I knew their family portraits were going to be tons of fun after meeting them in Kananaskis and loving our time together running around avoid bears. Although we loved the mountains for just the two of them, we headed to Whyte Avenue for their family portrait session. Whyte Ave is vibrant place that Maureen felt captured the essence of her modern, fun-loving, relaxed family. When I get to capture families that are so full of love and honest emotion, my heart is so full. And this evening was no exception.
Also, I often see that families stop booking yearly photographers after their kids get a bit older. This doesn’t need to be the case! Big kids and teenagers are still growing and changing quickly, and your unique family still deserves to be photographed. Sometimes the big kids might try to act “too cool” for their portraits, but eventually they loosen up and we can have some fun. For Maureen and Ben’s family, fun meant doing TikToks in a colourful back alley and getting ice cream from Yelo’d. We didn’t make our session stuffy or boring and we let the kids take the lead. This all lead to getting great natural portraits and fun group shots.
If you’d like your family photographed in one of your favourite places, in a way that feels the most like YOU, send me a message and let’s connect. Additionally, I’d love to help you plan all the details for the best session possible- and one that you’ll love to hang on your walls or in an album on your coffee table for years to come.
