Little Miss Willa is the most special baby. In fact her Mom, Paige, wrote on Facebook about how special is she. Paige writes it all so much better than I could ever try to, so I’ll let her words tell her story.

I’ve debated posting this for a whole week now, why? Because I have felt feelings of insecurity, embaressment, imperfection, judgement, pride and so many more totally wrong, and silly things. I have been so worried every time someone has wanted to meet Willa that they would judge me and so I always have said before I passed her to them : “this is Willa and I just want to tell you she….”. Everyone understands, they are kind, loving and really it doesn’t matter. We are all created in the image of God and we are ALL beautiful no matter what the “ideal” may be. I want my daughter to love who she is, be confident, courageous and kind.
“it’s a girl and she… Has 12 fingers but she is so beautiful”, the OB says after Willa comes out. I was shocked and worried at first but it has become part of Willa and her journey here on the earth. She was born with an extra “finger” on each hand. They do not have bone and are only attached by a small piece of skin. The health care team has no idea why she has them but they are not linked with anything that will affect her future. We are so grateful for the opportunity to have them surgically removed  by a paediatric plastic surgeon.
I post this so that I will stop worrying what others think because now everyone knows how extra special Willa is đź’• I hope I can always teach her to love her body and not be afraid of what others think, because she is a daughter of a KING and we sure love her!”
